Your headline isn't accurate.

One EPA researcher - Alan Carlin - wrote a policy memo saying that he felt some policies were "hasty" in light of his interpretation of the scientific evidence.

His boss, Al McGartland, wrote him an e-mail and said that the decision to move forward had been made and he was essentially beating a dead horse.

The report wasn't "suppressed" - the EPA has disclosed this entire e-mail correspondence.  And they certainly weren't suppressing research - they just read a policy memo and said "That's not the way we're going to go on this."

We should simply make plans to move to another planet rather than trying to fix this one up, especially since we are not sure if there is anything wrong with this one or not. Better to be safe than sorry, I always say.:D

Although that's a joke, NASA has indeed been working on contingency plans to evacuate the planet if necessary - for decades.

If we were going to, say, get hit by an enormous meteor, we might want to see if we could get at least a couple dozen people off the rock so the species wouldn't go completely extinct.

Yes, I don't doubt NASA has such a contigency plan. It would make such a great sci-fi movie to play out the whole scenario. Of those couple dozen of people, who would they choose and who would choose them. I guess very fertile folks like Hiram would be first pick.;)

tho, you're right, the headline does over-interpret, it's STILL interesting . . . always interesting to see how POLITICAL supposedly-objective and supposed-to-be-neutral-of-personal-interests 'scientific knowledge' really can be

it's not like Enlightenment times anymore, back when 'science' was a leisurely pursuit of some bourgoise European males, working independently, mostly in their own backyards...

I'm guessing that probably bothers you, so I should mention that it's not Obama's fault.
