Well, probly not the best question to ask in here considering this place resembles "madness" on a regular basis, lol.
I am referring of course to the band, Madness. They were English so maybe they didn't have any hits in the USA, but they are really good and I was just listening to this one of theirs that I love....hope you like it too....it's classic English mod music, imo.

They had a hit in the U.S. called "Our House."
"Our house, in the middle of the street. Our house, was our castle and our... keep"?
I had two of their albums a long time ago. Can't remember much more about them now, aside from their music being mostly "mod" new wave. They reminded me of a very early Pink Floyd song called "Bike."

I never heard of them before, and found the lyrics to the song you posted a bit difficult to understand........I guess they weren't/aren't boys from Liverpool? -I found those boys much easier to understand.

Yeah, "Our House" was their biggest hit, wow, I didn't know that made it big in your country too, that is cool.

Well yes, at least I could pretty-much understand all of the lyrics.
I wonder, when were they famous first? I'm just getting the feeling that they are at least two generations or so after my mad-into-wordly-music days.

I can't remember when I first heard that one, but yes, I have heard that before, it's lovely Pearls.
Crosby, Stills and Nash are before my time but they are well loved in Britain, yes.

Aw, well I dunno when they were first famous but they were big in the 80s as part of a "mods" revival. I remember the older kids wearing mod fashions, the big fishtail coats with Union Jacks on them and skin tight jeans, and riding around on scooters with Madness blaring out of stereos, lol.

Oh yes, Neil Young is well regarded as a genius in Britain too. I quite like some of his solo songs too, I can't remember the name of any just that some flatmates of mine in London were into him and used to play his songs, pretty cool some of that stuff. And of course they were big fans of the Crosby, Stills, and Nash. And naturally, they were older than me, lol. But I'm glad because I got to hear some fantastic music because of them.

Ah okay, early 80's anyway, I was very much in seclusion for the most~
Can't say any much newer music past the 60's, 70's, is anything that I would recognize, and like. -Though there have been some exceptions, like this gal:

My brother had to install a big screen and sound system in the Los Angeles area. He They just starting to do a sound check when some old guy suddenly walks in and sits down at the piano and starts hammering on it really loud. The technicians had to stop for a couple of minutes and wait for the guy to finish, but he just kept going. So my brother cranked up the loudspeaker really loud and says "Testing 1, 2, 3..."
The "old guy" was Graham Nash and they were installing the system at his house. My brother was saying what a jerk Nash was for interrupting their installation without any regard (Nash was only one of many stops they had to make that day). Anyway, Nash gave them a dirty look and left.
Just a silly anecdote.
