Just found out one of my best friends has a lead-guitar tryout with these guys in a couple of weeks.

| Cool. If they ever need a bass guitarist, my husband would certainly audition.

LOL - i already am. I'm his biggest fan. You know, John's talking about moving to Washington, PA. Are you anywhere near there? We could watch some games together if you were a "real" fan.

Hmm, after a quick glance at the ol' Atlas, looks to be 50 or 60 miles. For the past several years a 15-mile drive to Monaca is a big event for me. And for the past few weeks, a drive to Wal-Mart every other week is a big deal.

Do you know how many times we've been back and forth from KY to OH where we used to live in the past month? 50 miles is nothing. It's 67 miles one way and we've driven that probably 7 or 8 times.

Besides, for the foreseeable future, it's going to be hard to schedule things so that I can get away for two hours or so every other week.

Oh don't worry. We wouldn't bother to schedule anything. We'd just show up at your front door.

That would be cool -- as long as you don't get here 'til about 10 at night! Well, I guess between 10 PM and noon would be ok. As long as someone didn't see you lurking around at 3 AM and shoot you.

LOL - speaking of...would someone actually shoot me? At night here at this house, i'm scared to death to go outside and smoke. There's a porch that raps around the back of the house and downstairs it's very dark and has a lot of areas someone could hide. It's a much nicer house than i've ever lived in and it's also the very first street in the complex. I'm worried that burglers would choose this place as a good place to rob. John escorts me outside until he goes to sleep and after that, i'm on my own and scared. He says burglers would generally not target a house that has three cars in the drive way.

If you "rap," I'LL shoot you. I hate rap.
No, you *probably* wouldn't get shot. We all sort of notice things going on at neighbors' homes, but it's more likely the folks across the street would come over with a ball-bat or something to make sure all is well, rather than opening fire. If gunplay were going to happen, by now someone would have shot the retard druggies across the little patch of woods from us.
Now, out toward my cousins' place, you might actually take fire. They're gun collectors and very skilled marksmen (and women), and they live far enough out that they might be more leery of prowlers.

I asked because John takes the 25 out at night to protect me, lol. He was in the army... *rolls eyes* I just wonder what the liklihood would be that he'd ever have to shoot.

Dude, that's pretty cool. I have a couple of their albums.
I mean sure, it's a cheesy band, and some of the parody attempts are a little cringe-worthy, but I like them all the same.

I know you like parody bands because you like Weird Al. I'd love to show you a guy on Youtube but he cusses an awful lot. Still, he's funny as i don't know what. He kills me.

Well, you can go ahead and post the link. Worst case scenario is that I decide I don't like it and stop listening. After all, I'm in the military -- I hear a bad word or two every now and then. =D

I think it's pretty funny... it gets a little repetitive in theme, but still pretty funny. My roommate in college loved rap so I definitely appreciate the mockery.
(I don't hate rap, but I do find the extremer kinds a bit ridiculous.)

Well, I'm trying to talk less politics these days, but I'll answer here...
I don't like the kid. He says that he didn't have a chance to fire in Iraq because all he saw was a bunch of women and children running away from gunfire -- right before he got shot. Obviously a shot implies a shooter, and my guess is that the shooter wasn't a woman or a child. There are bad dudes in Iraq, people who will engage in sectarian violence and in other terrorist acts, and these are people worth killing. I'm not a pacifist, and I don't think Christ would have me to be a pacifist. (He didn't tell the Roman soldier to quit the military, and He has no problems telling people not to sin.) I feel bad for Tomas Young's injuries and disability, but his politicizing of his state helps make me feel free to disregard his attitude about the subject.
