Prince Chuck has a car that runs on wine.
Now if only someone could adapt that idea to ridiculous overpriced coffee...

Yeah, that's not a new idea. IIRC, it's been possible to run diesel cars on strained used veg oil for a while, maybe always. But until recently, it was not worth the hassle of cleaning the used oil.

So the wrath of God has finally fallen on Starsluts! That's what they get for shamlessly using pornographic images on their cups.

| Starbucks is a great pick-up place. I can sit at a table for hours and wink and gesture at all the babes that frequent the establishment. One hottie really took to me recently, and asked me if I was having a spasm. I said "No, sweetie. I am giving you a glance askew." She must have tripped or something because her coffee ended up my face. My beard deflected most of it and I escaped serious scalding. Then some imbecile employee told me to either "purchase something or get out." I'm not about to pay $10 for a cup of coffee, so I left. Last edited on Thu Jul 3rd, 2008 01:52 am by Sigmund Freud

Siggy my man, you have to stand your ground at these kinds of places. They aren't the Viennese coffee houses of yesteryear.
Don't let those minimum wage employees indimidate you either. The last time I was asked to leave Starfucks, I simply laid down on the floor, spread eagle, and did my impersonation of a screech owl. Pretty soon, the manager came out and offered me all kinds of free drinks on the sole condition that I stop the screeching!
If I remember correctly, I also got scores of phone numbers from the young ladies.
Never underestimate the power of a good screech.

I am Vietnamese, not Viennese. A common mistake.

Intimidate me?!? I'll have you know I thrash minimum-wage employees with my belt whenever they squawk at me! Only sometimes are they big and scary and make me run away, the rest of the time I intimidate them!

I may try that, so long as I don't have to sacrfice my self respect.
If I remember correctly, I also got scores of phone numbers from the young ladies.
Give them to me! They'll be wasted on you. After all, you're nothing but a troll.

Blimey, 600 stores is loads. Although I think they have too many stores anyway.
In Vancouver I noticed two Starbucks opposite each other....that's ridiculous

IIRC, one of the reports I saw on TV went on for a bit about all the closings, then said, "But those 600 stores only amount to about 5% of the total number of Starbucks stores."

Right, only 5% which means they still have waaaay too many stores.
I don't like their coffee anymore, it's not very nice. The best coffee I like is a NZ blend called Atomic Coffee....mmmmmm...knocks the socks off Starbucks that brew does....

I like a good strong coffee myself.
I had an Italian friend who turned me on to expresso 20 years ago. I've been brewing my own custom expresso lattes (fresh ground expresso beans, frothed skim milk, no sugar) every afternoon ever since.
I never really need to go to Starbucks, but on rare occasions when I can't be home for coffee time. I get all head-achey and tired if I skip it. And, of course, I always have to have a small bit of a pastry to go with it.

That's so cool to brew your own coffee sistah! I'd like one of those snazzy machines myself, but they are sooooo expensive.
Ah, must have the pastry with the coffee, mmm.

They're not that expensive. I bough a small Krups expresso machine for about $100.00. I've had to replace it twice in the last 20 years, but my friend swears by Krups for an inexpensive and good expresso maker. Think how much $$ it saved me in the long run. I would have spent that much at Starbucks in a month if I didn't have it.
The grinder cost me about $10.

Here's a decent one for only $50. I've had this one. It will do the trick just fine.

Blimey sistah! That's marvelous! The things cost hundreds here, I was looking at one for $800.00 which is out of the question. I just dunno where to find one less than that, everything is more expensive here....maybe I should just take a holiday to USA and stock up on cool stuff to bring back.

Why don't you just order it online and have it shipped to your house?

I like my coffee black, so Starbucks just ain't worth the price. It's good coffee, but I tend to enjoy the stuff at certain gas stations just as much.

Good point. If I do go to Starbucks I order my drink practically black as well. I do like a little frothed skim milk, but I don't put anything else in it...no whipped cream, flavors, sprinkles or whatnot. $4 IS too much for 2 shots of expresso and some skim milk.
