| I like this format better than the one over at talkbeliefs. I hope people come back. We seem to have scattered to the winds.

That was kind of how I felt. I really can't follow the flow of any conversation over a talk beliefs. I got so used to the 'show recent' and the arrow buttons that just take you to the last message you haven't read yet.
I guess threading is nice but all I get is a massive tree that I can't navigate once it grows to high.
This is the same old forum software it ever was. As long as we don't violate the TOS of WowBB I think it's safe to post here again.

Talk Beliefs wasn't hard to get used to. I bitched and moaned a little at the beginning, but that's just because I hate change. It is nice to be able to respond directly to the person you are responding to, but this format forces you to read the whole thread.
No matter, I doubt this board will ever get any busier than Talk Beliefs does. I just go where the new posts are.
Nice to see you here, Lindsey. Will your husband be joining us as well?

Jacob's been working like a dog lately, so I dunno. He got his promotion, and his co-manager has decided she doesn't like him. This has translated into him working 12-15 hour days because she keeps giving him (and only him) things that MUST be done before he can leave. Last night, for instance. He was scheduled to work 12-10, but stayed until nearly midnight.
She also keeps changing his schedule on a whim, and doesn't always tell him about it. Earlier this week, his schedule said he worked 7am-5pm, so he went in at 7 and started working. He worked for about 3 hours, then had to take an associate to the emergency room. He got a call on his cell phone while he was there from his co-manager, telling him "Oh, I just looked at your schedule. I changed it yesterday. You're supposed to be here 12-10 tonight. Go home and come back at noon". So he essentially worked from 7 in the morning to 11 at night with about, oh, an hour and a half break in there.
If it were every once in a while that he had to stay late to take care of a problem or something, I wouldn't be so pissed. But, it's EVERY SINGLE DAY. We can't plan anything for his days off, because his schedule doesn't stay the same from one day to the next so we never know when he'll be off. Even if he is "off", chances are the bitch will call him and try to make him go up there. We've started screening our calls when he's home for that reason.
Somebody opened a red book (open door complaint where somebody from the regional office is supposed to come in and talk to all the managers about the working conditions), but it got mysteriously closed before anyone had been interviewed. At this point, Jacob's trying to stick it out at least 6 months for the experience on his resume, and then is thinking about looking for a new job. Seeing as he's got 7 years in with the company, it's pretty sad that one bitch has made him hate that place so much he wants to leave.

Wow! Are you serious? This is a "co-manager"? So that means it's a general manager in training. Will she be his general manager down the line? It's possible he may not have to deal with her too long.
He should document all his hours and use the open door policy himself, or he could try appealing to this bitch himself. Maybe he could put in for a transfer to another store? In any case, being super busy right now might be a good thing for him (but not so good for you) considering the trauma he has just been through.
Are you working now too?

I just didn't like the color-scheme at Talk Beliefs.
So I'm back! But I forgot my old user name.

Nancy (bad co-mgr) has been at that store for around 5 years now. I don't see her going anywhere. The good news is I doubt that she'd stay at that store if they move her up. That's pretty rare.
He's documenting everything right now. He's got about a bazillion of the little pocket-sized notebooks, and he carries one every day. He put his foot down yesterday. It was 7pm, he'd been there since 7am, and the co-mgr was telling him he couldn't leave. He told her that he had to leave, and that she could do what she wanted, but he was leaving. And then, he left.
As for me, yes, I'm back at work. I haven't seen the kids yet, because it's teacher inservice week, but I'll see them on Monday. Last night was back-to-school night. One of the 5th graders came and asked me how the baby was...I guess she was absent when the kids were informed that Kenneth had died. So, I said "He passed away, sweetheart". Poor kid started crying.

FIVE years as a a co-manager? Yeah, she's not doing too well there.

Good for him! That's the only way to handle a manager like that.

That's sad. I'm glad you're back at work though. Work is good.
