Which, as it turns out, you're going to already.
I took Obama's word at his word. It's not like i'm upset about it. I know not to listen to factoids and take them as truth. That'd be pretty dumb of me.

Actually, there was a recent publication - I think the Christian Science Monitor? - that did some research and found that campaign promises are kept more than 90% of the time.

Thanks, Dec! Good to see you, too. Things are chaotic, but there's always opportunity in chaos.

Well, i sure don't equate Obama with Bush. I'd expect it from him. I liked Obama for his levels of honesty. I thought he was refreshing.

| Is it dishonest to simply not make full disclosure on a subject?

Sometimes. Like, when I asked my ex-wife "What did you do today," and she said "Not much" instead of "I fucked a stranger in the parking lot of a Trader Joe's," that was arguably dishonest.

I think so unless the omitted information is not pertinent.Last edited on Tue Nov 11th, 2008 12:11 am by ToniLoryn

| Can any politician really announce every single pro and con in their campaign platform?

The thing is, though, that Obama did announce his platform on gay rights.... he just didn't announce it to the general public.
Although if the religious right could find it and scream about it all over the net for weeks, I'm sure other people could have found it too.

The only thing i ever heard him say was that he didn't support same sex marriage in a debate. It was memorable for me because my jaw dropped. I was really surprised. He is after all a democrat. I would think that goes along with the usual issues like pro-choice for instance.
The only other time i heard about the issue is when i took a test that i think Evelyn linked to see how much we knew about both candidates. I was surprised that McCain seemed more liberal than Obama. I got the two quotes mixed up. I thought it was Obama who supported civil union. Obama didn't even support that, according to the quote.
I went to his site to find information about it and couldn't find it. Civil liberties talks about not allowing discrimination based on anything, much less sexual orientation or gender but nothing at all about unions.

Sorry, Jimbo, but that's the American way.
But hey, let me ask you something jimmy bean, if everyone else voted that you shouldn't have been allowed to marry your wife, would you just sit back quietly and say "well, okay, the people have spoken" and return to being single?

I didn't ignore it, Jimbo. You have my answer. To keep this thread on topic as much as possible, I'll even post something in that thread to make it clear enough for even you to understand.
So, are you going to continue to use this dodge to avoid answering my question, or what?

I'll answer it if you apologize for calling me names and remove, "jimmy bean" and "Jimbo" - the choice is yours. Now you really can't accuse me of dodging anything here because I am willing to answer your question if you do the polite thing and apologize and remove the names. Thanks much.

Is that a picture of you paying your hooker, jimbo?
You can no more answer A2SG's questions-- any of them-- than you can fly.
Please, oh PLEASE come back with a so-clever cut and paste that you insult yourself with.
